I'm not sure what to do first

How would you use a memory palace to memorise how software works, including where to find buttons and what they do etc.

Some real life examples may help kick off my attempt to do it myself.

Thanks.

There have been some discussions about specific programs like Photoshop — you might find some tips here:

Honestly I’m not sure that a memory palace is the best tool for that.

What I noticed in the new versions of the softwares I use for work is that I don’t find things in the menus anymore (because there are so many functions and they are accessible from several places anyway adding to my confusion… Not to mention that a change in screen size makes menu buttons change size and/or disappear too).

In the end I just go in the help/“what do you want to do”-field and type the name of the function to access it. (Meaning you have to know which functions exist and how they’re named).

What’s really useful to know by heart are the keyboard shortcuts (which go much quicker and don’t change as often as menus bars). Simple mnemonics should be enough for that.
