Hi, I am here with to ask for few suggestions or solution.
Right now I am studying political science particularly political ideas and ideologies.
It has 8 blocks which consists of 30 units, each unit contain 9 to 12 subunits and each of the subunits contain another 5 to 6 concepts.
If we sum it up it will come around 14,000.
Let’s say if you are going to make one loci per concepts, it will be massive.
I wonder if anyone could help me in this regard.
How I am going to give structure to this?
is there any way I can remember the main point and also cover almost all the topics?
Since nobody’s answering, I myself thought about it for very long and came to conclusion it’s not feasible to use so many loci or I must say massive number of loci.
But what I can do is I can use a limited number of method of loci to those part which have long list type or abstract things to remember.
Though I was curious to know that if anybody had tried this process to use the method of loci to remember whole book to pass the exam.
I must start from the scratch to understand more…being lazy I am enemy of myself
Sometimes it takes a little while for people to reply.
Not everything needs to go in a memory palace. If you didn’t know about the memory palace technique, you would still be able to remember a lot of the information. If you figure out what you aren’t able to easily recall with natural methods (like the lists you mentioned), then you could use that to reduce the number of locations.
Is the syllabus or textbook online? It sounds interesting.
Thanks @Josh@user_7e for your reply. @Josh I know, I was little impatient because In most of the forum it goes like either people reply very fast or they don’t reply at all…
Again that can happen due to the silly questions and lots of other factors like question been asked already…
But genuinely I searched forum for the similar question though I found few but answer were not satisfactory.
@user_7e your insights gave me overall a good view of scenerio. I have a huge syllabus https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Services_Examination_(India)in front of myself. Without structure it will be huge burden plus I haven’t started properly using MOl.
So before I indulge I wanted to have tips from pro people who are using it for long.
Syllabus above given in wiki is mentioned very vaguely but believe me each subject has 3-5 books that aspirant need to study.
