hello,
first of all Participants played a memory game matching cards. Each card came with its own sound effect.
Researchers played the sounds of half of these cards during participants’ slow wave sleep phase, where memory consolidation is believed to happen. When participants redid the test, they were much more likely to remember the position of the cards which the sound was played while they were sleeping.
