Have found this video, where 20 mountains were memorised with altitude numbers within 60 sec.
How would you memorise it?
Is it possible that she could known the mountains before?

Mountain Name = soundalike word.
Altitude = number system scene via PO or whatever. The altitudes are all 4 digits, so fairly simple scenes and quick recognition.
Combine the soundalike word with number scene, place it in a palace.
Move to next locus and repeat.
3 seconds per data set. Each data set has 3 elements. One second per element.
It’s definitely doable.
Hi, Tim.
Thank you for the response.
Yeah I see, it is basically three images per loci and it needs about 20 loci
since there are 20 mountains.
Have you tried to memorise something like that yourself?
In Chinese they have it easier, the total of syllables without tone are 410 - 416 according different sources, just googled.
so they could have an image for each I guess.
It would be similar to a “historical dates” game where there is a randomly generated “event” and a randomly generated date.
So like:
First Human On Venus - 1739
Golden Retriever Elected Mayor - 1977
Etc…
I’m not as fast as this person, but can get 15 or so in a minute sometimes. It’s pretty fun to do. Kind of a combination of working a number system and on-the-fly words.
This sounds cool! Have you tried to memorise passwords?
Now, I am playing with a random letter generator, which generates two random letters, and then I try to make sense of it. Like QY, UV, ZV etc.
My idea is that it will help me in the future if I need to remember spelling or weird names. What do you think?
It is easy I think
Just 20 word and 80 digit which is easy for one who is strong in words and numbers
Just put the name of mountain as a location for the 4 digits
Or you can link 4 digits with the name
or memorize first the 80 digit in 1 palace then memorize the names in another palace
When recall it go step by step
First location of mountain ?
First location of digits
Second location of mountain and second location of numbers
.
It is not like dates because she using 2 digit system which is so hard to memorize any date more than 2099
Because we have only 11 location
1 location per 100 year
and she got first mountain 5***
So she hasn’t location for 5000
So she used 2 images for numbers and linked them with the name
On the other hand if they’d had to rely on the soundlike word, they’d would go crazy with the options. ![]()
This is cool!
When I was a novice Buddhist monk, there were some monks who would memorise the basic code of monastic discipline which in Pali language.
Here is an example, it takes about 45-50 min to recite it.
Main method used at the times was just to drill it in by repetition.
On average it will take about 8-12 months to learn it, and then you will have to maintain by reviewing.
I managed to learn about half of it. Without any techniques, just sort of focusing on sound and rhythm, it was fun.
So yeah, I dont know why I am telling you this, lol
Basically it would be three images for one mountain ? One for a mountain and then two for numbers?
That’s interesting!
If I was there I will use the mountain as a location to memorize 4 digits
and 80-90% she is know the mountains before
20 arrondissements of Paris, 20 names/keywords/pegs and 2 number-objects
Make ONE mnemonic word/phrase/image for the mountain and one word/phrase for the altitude and link these in a funny and absurd visualization, and join this with a number/peg to the mnemonic word for the numbers 1 to 20.
etc
