How can I improve my Working Memory

Is there any way so that I can improve my short term memory or working memory ?

I read a lot of articles and in every of them written First of all you have to sleep good haha
But what i found:
Break big chunks of information into small, bite-sized pieces
Use checklists for tasks with multiple steps
Develop routines
Practice working memory skills
Experiment with various ways of remembering information
Reduce multitasking
Use mindfulness to minimize distractions and sharpen working memory
Add exercise to your daily routine

I believe Dual n-Back is your best bet for training raw working memory. For more info, see Gwern’s fantastic Dual n-Back FAQ.

Gwern states it does not improve working memory though

Thanks a lot

That sounds right. I’m not aware of any working memory exercises which reliably net gains in real-life working memory. I remember the evidence on Dual n-Back being mixed.

I wouldn’t write it off just because of that. I heard it said somewhere that if you put biology textbooks in front of students, tell them to study, and test their biology knowledge in ten weeks, you’d conclude that biology textbooks had no impact on people’s knowledge of biology.

My hunch is that Dual n-Back exercises can improve real-life working memory provided that you do the additional work to transfer your insights and mentality from the exercises into the real-world.

I think this is the same in sports. Athletes will get more transfer of skill from, say, agility ladder exercises provided that they combine those exercises with a common, sport-specific, athletic movement.

But as I said, this is my hunch.
