Get a first look at our new memory software!

We’ve raised about $16,000 and are about $4,000 away from our minimum funding goal with just three days left. Today and tomorrow I will be sending users a request to help support the continued development of the site. Maybe 100 more backers could get us to our goal, so every pledge counts at this point.

Thanks for all of the support so far!

Hey Josh, I just pledged. Good luck with hitting this target!

Only 3000$ more needed. That may be a stupid question, but does anyone knows anyone who could contact Dan Brown or Derren Brown or Bill Gates or the Sherlock Holmes writters or any famous/rich people who either use mnemonics or had something positive to say about Moonwalking with Einstein? Maybe Joshua Foer knows someone?

Thanks for all of the support! We’re working on reaching out to everyone with another set of emails, and I hope that we can reach our goal that way. There are only about 67 hours left to raise $3,000, but I think that we can do it.

Sorry to disturb inboxes more than usual during this Kickstarter campaign, but we need support if we’re going to reach our minimum funding goal.

We have 49 hours left to raise the last $1,250, so it’s getting closer. Thanks for all of the support!

I think it will end today, nice job

Minimum funding goal of 20,000$ have just been reached! Congratulation!

Thanks so much, everyone! Really looking forward to showing all of you the software.

For anyone who hasn’t backed it yet, the Kickstarter is a chance to get it at a discount. Your backing there also includes the XMT training software as a bonus ($50 for two years just by itself). There are still 42 hours left to get that deal.

Congrats on reaching the kickstarter funding goal. Can’t wait to use the software! Whit

Congratulations on reaching your goal. Would be nice to see 1 or 2 corporate backers to give you a big boost. Well done

Thanks!

Josh, is there anyway I can get access to the previous software that was available? I haven’t been around this forum for a solid 2 years, but, your email, reaching out for help, reached me well. It seems like there was already software in place, but when I click on the link for it, it directs me to the Kickstarter page, which I’m already an $80 donor, whatever class that puts me in.

Here’s my fear: If this software isn’t available until October, I fear it will be irrelevant by the time it is, for my needs. Additionally, it’s a really bad time to be releasing software like this. You should be centered around school and college schedules. Regardless, my backing stands. I just don’t want to get so far ahead that I get no use out of what is available in October. That’s the middle of the Fall semester.

With that said, congratulations! For a very fair price, you are offering a very valuable resource.

Well, I spell out the obvious idea to pull the photos straight from the internet to make the process faster (the introduction video only shows “from library”, “upload” and “paste from clipboard” options). I’m sure the copyright fear has crossed your mind, but YouTube just removes the videos that are complained about; and you could do the same: if someone complains about his photo (either made into location or image), you either warn the user to remove the photo from the memory journey or make the memory journey private; or deshare it yourself. If it is private, no copyright issues can arise.

Counterargument: someone finds other methods to share his copyright infringed memory journeys
Solution: state in user agreement that you’re not responsible of that.
If you think about it, the app itself violates no more copyright laws than PhotoShop (if the “desharing” option is implemented)

Looks promising.

Which link are you clicking?

We could have waited longer, but we wanted to get it live sooner, so we launched the campaign as soon as we could.

I would love to launch a beta before October, but we tried to make a realistic prediction. Will you still be in school in the winter semester? The software will have practical uses, even outside of schoolwork too…

Thanks… there is more to the software than shown in the Kickstarter campaign, and I think that you’ll like it. We’ll consider all feature requests. You can send suggestions to me ([email protected]) any time.

You have a valid point, Josh. I suppose the best time to release something is “when it’s ready”. Yeah, I’ll be in school then, but I must admit I should probably step out of the “this is for school” zone and into “this is for life” zone. I feel a little guilty, actually, for centering it around school. It’s been a long while, but that feeling you get when you know you made a mistake and let someone down, it feels exactly like that. This may come across as a little deep for the topic, but that person is me! Here I am, talking about school, totally oblivious to the higher purpose. Well, thanks for triggering that realization!

As for the link, it’s on the the homepage at www.artofmemory.com - there’s a button that says “Get our memory software”, which, could be worded better, which leads to the Kickstarter page. Below that on the right there’s a bit of info that says Brain Training Software, and under that, “Learn More”, which shows this: We’re building a new kind of brain training software. Get it on Kickstarter until the first week of April!

“New kind”, to me, implies that there was one before it, but I guess it could also refer to other unaffiliated software that’s out there. That’s why I was confused. No offense meant at all, but it is a little misleading.

Again, I can’t stress enough how happy I am to be able to support this endeavor, and I’m sure the software will be an asset to everyone, from beginner to grand master, considering that’s who is behind the creation of it to begin with.
-Gabe

Sorry if the wording isn’t clear. “New kind” just means that we’re building something that has never existed yet.

(I’ll update the descriptions soon, since the Kickstarter campaign ends tomorrow.)

Many thanks for all of the support!

I was very excited to see that you made it!
