Dance keeps appearing as a mnemonic technique in @LynneKelly’s (excellent) memory craft , which I’m currently reading. It reminded me of a curiosity from the world of aerobatic pilots. Many of them memorise and rehearse their routines on the ground, using something called the “Aresti dance”. It’s what the name suggests: a kind of jerky dance, where each movement represents a manouver that the plane will pull off in the air.
