Does anyone here likes to create words in the spot to memorize numbers?

I have a 00-99 PAO but whenever I want to memorize some number I usually default to creating new images on the spot, I’ve never cared that much about speed though as it’s obviously slower.

Hi,

Yes…at work

When you must, you must.

Yes! On one hand, I like it because it gives more variety. And sometimes a spontaneous non standard image fits so well the locus that it makes me laugh so I keep it.

But on the other hand, sometimes it slows me down when decoding.

Mostly I tend to gravitate towards the same people/keywords (max. 2-3 standard keywords for one number).

What’s more of a problem are the people I replaced (mostly because I realised they are too similar to some of the 999 others), because they still are in my oldest memory palaces but aren’t top of mind anymore. So when I draw a blank on a years old locus it means I have to think “old”.

Same here. I liked to experiment by finding new words for numbers, because in the beginning, I wasn’t sure if the images I had initially chosen were sticky enough. But now, I am settled on the motives and want to increase the speed of recall. In some situations you just have to be fast and I want to reap that benefit as well.
