The interviews are with a plethora of brain scientists and neurosurgeons, and if you’re interested at all in the science of what we do, I recommend watching them all. Whatever the video version of a page turner is, I promise these are it.
I did watch this a while ago. It’s very interesting to me as I am very interested in how our brain works. I’ve done a course on this on Coursera from Wesleyan University that goes into a lot more details which was absolutely amazing. I got my certification which was a nice reward, but what I’ve learned from it was priceless, a real eye opener!
Thank you for links! I’ll be watching this again soon.
Could you tell me which course it was that you did, Erol? My job offers me a Coursera account that I have yet to abuse, and I’ve been anxious to find something on there to motivate me.
Also, if you have any more suggestions on titles to look up that are similar to this (documentaries, books, etc.), I value your recommendations! Trying to build up a real library of this stuff in my mind
Yes I do
One of the guys I follow is Joe Dispenza.
He has a new program called “Rewired”
Because you are also into this kind of knowledge, you’ll find Joe as amazing as I do. He has a unique explanatory style, very easy to understand, and to follow. He knows his subject cold, inside out, and did a lot of research on the brains and its functions. You’ll probably find it amazing with the way he explains neuroscience, and epigenetics which is an eye opener in itself.
There are a lot of free videos about him on youtube where he talks about these things.
" Understanding Memory: Explaining the Psychology of Memory through Movies"
It’s a 5 weeks course. But if you have the time, you can go faster as all the videos are already there.
You’d have to pass the exam to get your certificate.
I got mine with Grade Achieved: 92.86% which I think it means I know this subject quite well now
Mine wasn’t free, I paid for the course to get my certificate. So even if you have to pay for it I’m sure it’ll stand out on your CV.
It goes into Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and everything else in between. The professor (John Seamon) uses movies to show the examples of how the brain works. A Real Eye Opener Course!
Also; you surely had no way of knowing this, but signing up for the course today netted it to me for free appartently haha. Thanks for the timely heads-up!
