Cleansing the rotted brain / Beginner (pls guide)

Hello, I am feel like I have really got stupider over the years. Because of laziness, demotivation and prolonged inactivity I have not been using my brain critically and analytically, it feels likes there’s just mush in my cranium, and online slop doesn’t help it either. I just seem to forget a lot.

I am 20, and studying rn,
What are some beginner memory methods I can do to start off and some habitual behaviours I can start doing for the better along with material to learn from (preferably book bc i wanna get into reading again). And with progression can I significant evolve my memory neurologically with long-term results?
