I note what you say aboout changing your objects and locations. Do you get any ‘ghosting’ effects from having done this? That is, do you sometimes recall the ‘old’ image instead of the new one? Just curious as I’ve deliberately retained my original choices even though I’m sure I would make some different choices now.
Next steps are 1) replace some of my actions and objects that are not distinct enough from each other, and 2) keep practicing the card triplet → PAO step as a standalone step. I’m at around 3.5 seconds per triplet for this, so I’m spending 17*3.5=59.5 seconds, or around a third of the time, on just the translations.

No, not really. Perhaps the first couple of times but worth the change. I have two real rooms that are very similar and found that completely altering one in my imagination really helped. Also, I've made a lot of changes to my objects to make them more vivid and it doesn't take long for those new objects to become permanent members of my little collection and for the old ones to completely disappear.
Maybe Josh can set you up a permanent table for the scores?
My morning practice routine right now is:
Go through the deck three times (just shifting the last card to the first and repeat) just practicing the PAO equivalencies.
Browse through two 52 journeys naming the PAO (all three parts) after the loci just to practice the sequence.
Then do an official timed PAO with 18 loci memorization
Then do a timed PAO with 52 loci memorization.
I memorized a full deck without mistake for the first time yesterday. My time was 1:45.
I have been training for 3 months, not every day.
Since my first goal was to memorize a deck under 2 minutes (first step towards the grand master title), I started with very few cards (a suit) initially, than build up by adding 3 cards when I was able to obtain my time (under 2 seconds per card in average) without any mistake.
I started with a PAO system, but switched to a Dominic System (A person and an object/action per locus) after re-reading his last book (which is full of insight). The original encoding for the cards were inspired (a lot) by Dave Farrow’s system (which I think is crazy simple for beginners to learn because it is fully visual).
I finally managed to memorize a deck of cards without any errors. I really put extra time on everything to be sure to get everything right, so hopefully I can do this even faster. My time is 5:58. My current system is linking a list of OA-objects (object + adjective) in an improvised loci. What I do is that I pick a place which I am familiar with and then just let the linking process form a path through that environment, in that way I can both use the links and loci for retrieving objects. When I get this system right I’ll try an OAV-system.
I think a wikipage where everyone could update their times themselves would be nice.
After my first successful attempt on memorizing a deck of cards in years (I actually managed to memorize a deck of cards 8 years ago) I got confident and today I improved my time with over one minute, to 4:45. Wonderful to see that my hard work is paying off
It would be nice to see a convenient table of the scores, but it might be better to keep the updates the way they are now so that the person with the new score can leave a little message about it like spenen’s above. I love reading these stories. That’s if Richie or someone would update the table.
We can leave it like this for now. I’m going to work on the voting feature today, and updating the wiki another day. I’m thinking of eventually moving the entire wiki to this section of the site, so that eventually it’s one CMS instead of three. (Integrated search, single login, etc.)
When/if that happens, each wiki article will have a comment list below it…
I’m more than happy for Josh to set something up where people can update their own times - whatever works best for the forum. It would be nice, as suggested above, if we could maintain the update posts that people make as they often contain information that may be beneficial or motivational to others.
