Building mnemonic images for my numbers

I plan to treat this post to log my progress with image assignment for my 110 numbers.
I have come up with the following.
(ARROWS INDICATE THE DIRECTION OF READING)

That leaves 59 numbers.
Numbers under parenthesis, even if some others are likely to be changed in due course, have a higher likelihood.

Thanks for reading!
Meanwhile, I drew a plan of My home to use as a memory palace.
I’m in no hurry to assign numbers and plan to take my time.

I used Erol’s images as a reference, then removed the non-obvious images or those which read weirdly(i.e., I want to be able to directly super impose the image upon the number, maintain reading direction from left to right and bottom to top).
For these missing numbers I filled in with rhyming images or associations.

I plan to complete upto 60 for now.
Then use it as a clock ( I saw Erol post it elsewhere, very interesting).

Ah also,I might not make as much progress as today everyday, but promise myself to fill atleast 10 missing blocks, review pre-existing ones and the palace.

Looks like a good start!

Substituted

Filled
21,26,28,29,30,33

Hehe It took longer than expected to fill those.
I will reduce the quantity.
0-9 and 00-30 have been finalised,no need to change anything.Just plenty of practise encoding/decoding.I will look how others suggest practising.Using Anki might work, let’s see…
Todo:
-It’s a time consuming process,target 5 images a day.
-Instead focus on the images you already made.Practise matters more than any resemblance of the image to the number.
-Focus on using the palace.Start practising with items in the rooms.

Learning:
1.dont attach images. The number itself is image, you must be able to see the number itself as the image.Attaching image is only a hindrance.See the emotion the image has.Feel it.See it.Use sensory details

Reminder to self:
1.Try a PA or POsystem with this after developing fluency. Then maybe even PAO

Hi, I’m just starting out with numbers. My goal is to remember dates of major events and mainly numbers less than 4 digits that relate to different concepts. I’m using the same format as yours, as in association/rhyme/ similarity. After that, does each image has to interact with one another to create a story? So, if WW2 ended in 1945, I need to associate number 19 and 45 with an element of WW2?

It hasn’t been long since I started.
Other can certainly answer much better,
even if they use a different system,
since linking principles are pretty much the same.

Yes, you are right. You first encode 19 and 45 into images. Then include an element which reminds you of WW2.
Here is an example:
1945 WW2 end

I would imagine
a Giant Elephant(19) crushing a Snake with Hitler’s moustache(45) underfoot.
This is according to the shaper system article on wiki here.
19 is elephant
45 is snake
WW2 end
the snake wearing a toothbrush moustache being crushed. This represents end of WW2 for me.
You can play with sensory details to make things stick.
I found Mr. Anthony Metivier’s suggestion of using KAV COGS for making these images sticky very useful for this purpose.

Oh! and would you mind sharing your list? Interested how you are doing it, since you mentioned we are using a similar approach.

Fred2 on this forum has been perfecting his shaper system for a while. Maybe you’ll find inspiration in one of his threads.

Today’s log:
Compiled a list of sources from which images can be borrowed.Games,Tv shows
66 is a stickman giant from stick war legacy
5 is now gyrados
40 is shovel knight (from the eponymous game)
41 is gobrou from Re:Monster
42 is a boar
43 is a rabbit
44 is a music note(4/4 in music theory)

I read a post titled “Maya’s Categorical PAO”
I do not plan to make my system Categorical, but reading the logic behind the associations in the Google sheet attached was helpful.

Tried visiting the loci in the bedroom-kitchen MP multiple times.
I feel tempted to add more loci everytime, hard to hold back.

To do:
-Recall more sources from memory for numbers.
-Started small with the timetable thing. 5hr slot for studies is a lot.Let’s just keep it goal based for now, with 5 hr as the ceiling so that you don’t slack off.

Thanks!
It took a while since I was reading his posts.
Really helpful.
I find his 'shaper-intuitive system’s interesting.Similarly there is another one unencoded 00-99 PAO.
As I find images for my system,I increasingly realise that there is a certain ‘feeling’ I get when I find a very satisfactory image.
I felt it when I modified 0 as Golden Buddha.
Previously I used am egg for it.
It was simpler, but it didn’t ‘hit’ me the same way that Buddha did.
I felt the jolt of infinite imaginative possibilities that including the character would have.

It’s so fascinating to imagine characters you love and like to interact with one another when trying to encode number chunks in a story!!

It’s so addictive!
But I fear that I don’t get too involved with it,since these kinds of characters which make me feel this way are time consuming to find in MEMORY.And I never particularly cared about remembering my life in the past.

So I plan to stick with things even if they don’t make me jolt with the excitement of possibilities.
I will wait for these characters to appear instead! Try to reflect my life in the past years.

I have included a few!

Ah the thought of having 110 of these already makes me drool!
Realistically that might not be possible any soon. But I’m happy with what I have done until now.
I just hope that when I’m done, someone else will read this and they might feel helped a little.

I don’t think it takes much longer to learn a PAO compared to just a PA or PO, though I wound up going with a PO because picking actions was causing me to stagnate and not complete the 00-99 list. That and I like the freedom of having characters interact in any way. Gambit can throw his cards, Donatello shuffle them, Pennywise fold them into boats, and all the action does is tie the two together.

This has been my experience as well, I dislike fixed actions.
I actually do PO, PPO or POO, or sO-P (for numbers); and POL or PLH (for languages). Depending what fits best the context.
(I still speak about it as “PAO” as a generic term, the principle is the same and the details not really important, every person personalise their system anyway.)

I know some people have 1000 people and objects, and 100 actions. (Because actions are harder to find in a phonetic system like major I suppose.)

So really the possibilities are infinite.

Have an exam on 29th,not been able to make much progress these past days.
However, I took some time off and completed the list.
Substituted some elements and filled the remaining ones.
I plan to practice with the new ones, and change if better images come to mind.

From this point on, I will log at the end of my daily practice.
Uh and sorry for the long list, I do not know how people do those lists which can be toggled in the text editor.
Would be wonderful if someone can help a little!

Also,What would be an achievable and realistic goal to set for numbers and images(for memory palace) as a beginner?

Finally extended the palace to the whole house.
There are 25 loci in total.
Plan to use it tomorrow to learn something I have been avoiding.

To-do:
-Use those 25 loci in the ‘Home palace’ to learn THAT.
-Create additional peg lists.Take ideas from Erol’s shaper system book.
Atleast include,a body palace,fruits,animals,numbers etc
Do one at a time.Move only when you are proficient at it

I already have a todo on Google keeps.
But it’s simply convenient to have memory relating things here.
