Biological sciences memorization techniques

Hello, everyone!

I’ll include my requisite “I’m new to the boards” comment – I believe this topic isn’t covered under any extant forum, but I hope you can forgive me if I’m wrong.

My question is this: I’m entering medical school soon, and I’m looking for techniques to memorize things like chemical reaction chains and the oh-so-many biological acronyms that I’ll need to. Does anyone have tips for memorizing this kind of information, which is much squishier/less easily encoded into a visual than something like, say, a PAO system for numbers? I realize that much of this will be personal preference, but I’m interested to hear what has worked for others in the past.

Hopefully this’ll be of use to you:
