Any book to aid visualization capacity?

Guys,I cant find about 3 to 5 of PAO in my loci when i recall while i finish speed cards in about 4 mins. Can you plz tell why is this happening and some books which can aid visualisation??
Thank you very much!

Sorry for not replying sooner!

When it happens to me, it is mainly because my PAO is not interacting with the locus. I place the Person doing an Action with an Object at the locus, but I don’t connect it to the locus. When that happens, the PAO becomes a loose part of the memory palace, a piece hovering in a void. Try to really have the PAO interact with the locus.

hope it helps!

As Mayarra stated, having your card images interact with the locus is very important. For this reason, you can also come up with standard actions for your loci, for example one of my memory journeys begins with a nightstand so the first character in my journey is always making a loud, characteristic noise of some sort and waking me up. Sometimes you have to get creative and do something unconventional with your locus though, for instance once I had to place Noah and a dragon onto some drawers, so instead had Noah chiseling the cupboard into a statue of a dragon.

It’s also very important to involve the senses in memorization, so if you’re stuck with a boring object try to also give it a sound, smell or texture. Like if you happen to end up having to place someone with a wool hat under a shower, make sure to smell the wet wool. And when someone is smashing through a door with a mace, really hear the wood crack.
I happened to remember a book by Tony Buzan I had on memory so here’s a short two-page section from the book on how to make images memorable:

Related to the Tony Buzan link, there is a wiki page on his SMASHIN’ SCOPE idea.

I’ve also found some use recently in using “looming”, the object getting bigger and closer (and therefore maybe more threatening and memorable?) and then also using “consequence” in the action: the object “does something” to the locus. Maybe smashes, dents, bends, breaks, morphs, etc. You can also try “fusion” where the two things fuse together. Just starting this experiment, though. Perhaps even write down the ones you have trouble with in a Memory Journal and see if there is some pattern? Is it the actual images just aren’t quite right for you or is it the interaction with the locus?
