I have come up with a new (at least I think it is new) system.
origin story
About 2 weeks ago I started fresh with a very standard number/card method in which numbers/cards are translated into objects and placed one per location in a memory palace. After a couple of days it became obvious that some locations were better than others, so I decided to get rid of half of the locations and try the 2 objects per location method. Well, the remaining locations were really much better than the ones I dumped and the flow of the entire route was very much improved. However, I found out, that I am horribly bad at placing multiple objects at one location. So I imagined: what if I place the first object normally (in the high quality location) and perform a prememorised action on the second object. And perhaps, I imagined also, there is an advantage in having more than one action per location.
example for memorisation of a deck of cards
- 13 locations, each with 3 associated actions;
- first object (representing the first card obviously) is placed normally in the location, the next 3 objects are memorised by means of performing the prememorised actions on them.
