A Spaced Repetition Timer App?

Was wondering if anyone has come across an app/piece of software, that’s effectively just a bunch of alarms to let you know you need to review your information again?

You could probably just do something like this with a calendar app, but I think it’d be a useful tool to let me know I need to go over something I’ve tried to memorise.

Do you know Anki? It’s a great app for spaced repetition.

Yeah Anki’s great! Love using it for things like capital cities and other information in that vicinity.

My issue is that I don’t really know how to encode something like a new memory palace into Anki; it’s a fantastic flashcard app, but when I want to go over something that doesn’t have that inherent link to a flashcard of 2 sides of information, it’s down to me to try and remember it, and I end up forgetting it without making myself a reminder.

Just put the information into anki. For most uses, you don’t need to put the memory palace itself there. For instance, if you memorized all countries using a memory palace, build cardas containing each country’s capital or download a premade deck.

If you memorized digits, you may put the name of the loci on the front of the flashcard (like "kitchen to bedroom), and nothing on the back. It will just remind you to review those digits on an appropriate app.

If you just want to remember to review a memory palace that is empty, give each MP a name and build flashcards containing the name on the front and nothing on the back. These cards will just remind you of going through the loci.

Great suggestion for a workaround, thank you!

I would encourage you to learn how to use the card templates in anki.

For example, with only one note, you could have several cards:

Card 1
Front: (French word)
Back: (English translation) + (picture of a memory palace station where you put the word) + (context sentence)

Card 2
Front: (English word)
Back: (French word) + (pic of MP) + (context sentence)

Or another example… I’m currently building and learning a 999 PAO.

I have one note template with the fields Number, Person, Object, Keyword, Location. Each note creates 5 cards.

Card 1
Front: Number
Back: Person (image) + Location (image of memory palace’s station) + keyword

Card 2
Front: Person (image)
Back: Number + Location (image) + Keyword

Card 3
Front: Number
Back: Object (image) + Location (image of memory palace’s station) + keyword

Card 4
Front: Object (image)
Back: Number + Location (image) + Keyword

Card 5
Front: Location (image)
Back: Number + Keyword

Strictly speaking the card 5 isn’t necessary for PAO but it’s not really that much more work, so I figured I might as well add it so that in the end I’ll have a memory palace memorised (with 1000 numbered stations).
