A question about visualization

some of us have a difficult time of visualizing, is there some exercises any off you do to perhaps strengthen our ability to visualize and see them as clearly as possible?

if so, could you describe them and how well they improved your visualization abilities over time please?

I can tell you what I do sometimes. My visualization is still not great, but it is much better than it was at first. Every once in a while I will take a list of objects or words and chain them together like I would do in a loci path, but imagining it all in an endless, empty parking lot, and going slowly, I try to remember a long list without skipping anything. Basically, you’re just taking away the frame of reference that loci provide, a crutch, so in order to succeed, you have have to be visualizing them well.

I don’t know if this actually makes the visualizations more realistic if someone were to do it as a drill every day, but it does help you learn to visualize effectively.

Also, do some memorization taking much more time than you need. With every new item, hear a sound, and try to incorporate some other sense as well, even if it’s imagining what a brick would feel and taste like on your tongue, whether or not you actually imagine yourself licking it.

That all makes visualization more effective. I don’t incorporate any sense other than vision when I memorize. Always, there is just silence. But it does make the images better, so it would be a good thing to keep practicing if you feel your visualization isn’t good enough.
