0-9 AND 0-99

I am starting out and am planning on using the Major system and PAO. I saw this post on the wiki, and wondered if people do a separate 0-9 from their 00-99?

Also I’m curious as to what techniques people have for easily remembering the Major system in the first place.

I do. This means I have 110 items in total in my major system list.

I learnt it using mnemonics in Dutch, so this would not be helpful I guess.

I also have separate images for 0-9 and 00-99.

Do you have your images created already? I’d print up a cheatsheet and then try to convert every number I see into the images – license plates, receipts, house addresses, parking space numbers, etc. If you forget an image, you can look at the cheatsheet.

If you don’t already have the images made, check out the image ideas in these lists.

Thanks.

So why do 0-9 and 00-99 (since 0-9 is a subset)?
Can you give lists of what you have for 0-9 and 00-09 so I can see the differences?

I am thinking about the PAO images but haven’t written them down yet as I am reading / learning from the website.

Sometimes you want a separate 0 from 00, or a separate 1 from 01 etc.
For example in remembering telephone numbers or exact amounts, or addresses etc.

Let’s say you memorized that somebody lives at 1600 Whatever Street.
You used one object for memorizing ‘16’ and another for memorizing ‘00’.
Now if your '0’and ‘00’ are the same, how do you know that the address is ‘1600’ and not ‘160’?

Sure. Here is my list. It is in Dutch though.

Sorry for flooding the thread, but here is a way of memorizing the Major System itself in English.
This one seems pretty easy to learn.

I use a number shape system for 0-9, and a modified major system for 00-99.

I use a version of Dominic for 00-99 and number-rhyme for 0-9.

I only really use the latter if there’s e.g. a left-over digit.

Thanks for all the great responses.

I now understand the 0-9 and 00-99 difference and why both lists are important.

I have to figure out if I want to do 0-9 with major system and then 00-99 with PAO or if I want to do something simpler for 0-9 like number shape system.
