Visualising

Just thought I would write an update on my progress. After the Christmas break I resumed my training on speed cards to try to improve my recal accuracy and visualisation but not time myself and put any pressure on…

First of all I decided to try and give myself the best chance by eating the right foods, quiting smoking, and excercising! to try and get my mind and body in shape…and I must say that the results are excellent, I am much more focused and I have better concentration levels - either because of a better diet or the practicing has paid off, or both…when I recal the cards now they are just flowing out with ease and accurate. Visualising is still an issue but I honestly think that you dont need to have a clear image but using other senses really help me like ‘feelings’ if you know what I mean?

Anyway, things are definately improving and I may even time myself next week as I think I could beat 3 min…I will post my times.

Well, I finally did it this morning! I did a pack of cards in 2.41 and I am really chuffed. There was one card that I could not recal and had to go through the pack in my head to try and place the action I was missing, I finally managed it after a few minutes…bloody Ace of clubs. I am really happy about this time.

It just goes to show that you DONT need a vivid clear picture to progress at speed cards.

My time for a deck of cards is 2 minutes 1 second although recalling 3 of them was a bit of a struggle. I had to go through the pack in my head to eliminate cards but I managed it!

My visualisation has improved slightly, I can manage to get a good ‘fleeting’ image which is helping cards to stick.
My concentration is also improving each day I practice.

I am now going to move onto memorising numbers and random words.
