Update:
Memorized 6 pages (currently at 31/600 I’ll need to sacrifice some sleep to reach 300 pages )
Which book are you memorising? Its easy or difficult? I want yo memorize history but is a problem too much character.
I’m memorizing biology
I dont have history in my course anymore
Biology Is complex but Is lógic. In history there are enormous books full of mames AND useless data . I want to study that but im afraid of that. Anyway i try to learn all kind of things to learn to learn. Mnemonics are useful for study such difficult things.
spent exactly 0 hrs memorizing biology
Solved physics all day
memorized 6 pages (biology)
memorized 20 physics formulas
That’s a danger of memory techniques and other productivity/organisation techniques that I have run into myself. You get lost in fantasizing about how perfect everything will be “soon” because of your new technique and that you’ll be able to catch up so easy, and you slack off. Also be mindful of how much time you spend setting up or refining your technique or system vs how much time you actually spend studying.
Just remember that taking consistent action is always the most important thing. For another framing, think about how many classmates don’t use memory techniques and still do well. In not in school any more, but this applies in the workplace too. The successful people in my company don’t use memory techniques (afaik). They have just built the right habits, most importantly taking action consistently and not ruminating/procrastinating.
Remember “you can act your way into right thinking, but you can’t think yourself into action”
Hi. Mnemonics are not mágic AND not for all the people but helps a Lot. You can memorize things of books. courses. names thats helps at work or study.
thank you
you are 100% correct I’ve thought these things myself
sometimes I get lost in my own fantasies when creating a story
And you’re exactly right on the “catching up” and “slack off” part
that’s exactly what I did
I thought (and still think) that I have some magic wand which can make all study related issue disappear so I slacked off a lot
My life depends on that entrance exam and I’ve started putting in the effort (which I hope I’ll keep doing)
What exam? To enter to university?
Medical College
How much time do you spend on memorization ?
it varies
sometimes as low as 30 mins
sometimes 6hrs
memorized 4 pages
10 pages in a day really isnt that difficult (there were times where I just couldn’t look at my textbook cause I was so overwhelmed)
I’ve realized that I’m really bad at focusing for long hours (I’ll work on that)
I’ll aim for atleast 8 pages every single day (bare minimum)
Aiming for 15pages/day by March 30 (deadlines are great motivation)
Hi. How many Places of Palace do you use to do this?
You can work on that by taking breaks. Being able to be truly focused for hours isn’t possible.
Don’t stare at screens during your breaks! Go for a short walk, take a shower or a nap… That way you can then be truly focused and work smarter, not harder. Plus there are good chances that your brain is going to come with fresh ideas during these breaks, I found that the best ideas come during walks.
Edit: doing the dishes, folding laundry and tidying up work too! You can keep your house spotless and train your memory at the same time ![]()
thanks for the information ! ![]()
Yes. When I walk have a lot of creative ideas.
