The number/sound assignments that are used are really up to you. As long as you can come up with 10 distinct sounds that you can clearly identify, you can map them to whichever numbers you want.
The important thing with major is to keep many sounds as “free” sounds so that they can be used as fillers. This is traditionally done with vowels, w, h, and y sounds. You COULD take some of those sounds as replacements for others that don’t appear or pronounce as strongly in your language, but just be aware that as soon as a sound is used to represent a digit, you’re now restricted to ONLY using that sound to represent a digit. It can no longer be used as a free filler. Its still possible to construct full lists with restrictions, it just becomes more challenging to find words or phrases that align.
When I designed my card/number system, I used the base sounds of major but added in W and H to represent additional card suit combinations, so I needed to avoid using those sounds at the start of words. Normally with Major, there is no such restriction. I was still able to fill in all 2704 possible entries in my list, but it made it more challenging. I decided to keep vowels as free sounds because I thought it would be much too restrictive without having them available.
