That is intriguing. I suspect that it is not a feature of the original henge given that the only art reported is much smaller on a different sarsen. But maybe it is only a specific light angle that this marking shows up. It is hard not to see a figure with raised arms. You may be right.
I think that your ideas about the site as a training academy are really valid. It is a knowledge theatre because all knowledge is performed in oral cultures. They would have used images found in the stones as reminders. That’s why the bluestones would be so good, they are really dotted and splodged, but even smoother stone like the sarsens would work well. Enhancing them with images would be even better. Teaching would have been a critical activity, or knowledge would be lost. I hadn’t specified teaching using the markings in the stones, but that makes so much sense.
There is so much work to be done on applying these ideas to ancient monuments. It needs to be people like you who understand memory techniques, and they can really only be understood by people who have experienced them.
True about the written documents, but any scientifically meaningful theory must be falsifiable. Otherwise it is useless.
There are many findings that could be discovered there (or at any of the henge / Neolithic monumental sites) which would destroy my ideas, but that hasn’t happened since the publication of my PhD thesis and subsequent academic monograph in 2015. The Memory Code is the version for real people! There are researchers in various universities in the UK and US applying the ideas to the paleolithic and now to human evolution. Other academics are applying it in education. Memory rules!
No idea where this will all go, but I am never bored. I get the most interesting emails!
I think that they are more like the database structure with all the data held in human memory, so now lost. All we are left with is their memory palace locations. I see them as like a constructed memory palace. But Indigenous cultures talk about their landscape locations as like writing, so maybe you are onto something. I wish we could just have a few minutes chatting with the Neolithic Brits and find out for sure!
my theory is that stone henge and other huge rock man made formations were made from melting pits of smaller rock using the suns rays! stone henge is placed exactly in line with the sun at the hottest time of the year, summer solstice. Thus enhancing the maximum rays of the sun, thus tapping into the suns power. using magnification. the power from the sun is infinite! elon musk knows this! He tells us all the time. we have known since children we can set things on fire useing a magnifying glass i think they used glass inside the rock and the rock was so thick to with stand the heat of the process of magnification! the rock at stone henge melts at 1200 degrees celsius which is not hard to achieve. food for thought! We have infinite power we are not tapping into!
