I didn’t watch the 2nd or 3rd videos bc who cares already knew months ago its a scammer.
I don’t know if Nelson is clickbaiting or just gullible but either way it makes him look bad (obviously the scammer looks far worse).

I disagree. I don’t believe he would do something like that for monetary purposes. Nelson is a 4 time USA Memory Champ someone we respect and trust. I don’t think he would abuse that trust like that
Nelson Dellis doesn’t just know how to memorize. He’s a smart guy who has advanced degrees in physics, mathematics, and computer science. He knows how to think.
And can he really not correlate that a guy who cannot memorize random numbers, cards, etc. memorizes books verbatim in a few minutes?
In addition, his “record” for memorizing words of 102 words in 30 seconds, that’s less than one third of a page. And when he “memorizing”, he flips through the pages at a speed of 2-3 seconds. And claims his formula makes “your photographic and eidetic memory work.”
It’s hard to find a fool who would believe Bijay. Nelson is definitely not one of them.

Being smart—even extremely smart—does not immunize anybody from being fooled or believing things that everybody else can see is nonsense. Even careful thinkers let their guards down from time to time.

Hey everyone.
I guess I’ll chime in here to comment on a few things on how this went down.
In a reaction video I did last year I made an offer for Bijay to do an interview with me if I was ever in Nepal.
I happened to be in Nepal earlier this year for other reasons and he reached out to me. I thought it was a fake Bijay account reaching out to me on Facebook at first (there have been a LOT of fake Bijay social media accounts reaching out to me since last year). But it turned out to actually be him and he was extremely eager to meet me. I was on a mountain and he was messaging me once or twice a week asking when I’d be back in Kathmandu. It was a bit overwhelming…
I felt bad. I had made an offer, and here he was requesting to get that interview. My flights got all messed up coming home and I had to spend a week in Kathmandu so I agreed to do it. I also appreciated that he wanted to do the interview. At that point I still believed he was fake but was always excited that maybe, just maybe, there was some truth to him—but I figured if he wanted this interview so badly, that he was going to be as open as possible and show me and the world what he’s really capable of.
I initially asked him to meet me at my hotel for the interview but he said it was too difficult and would prefer his office. First red flag—ALTHOUGH, there was a country-wide lockdown and you literally could not go out in the streets without getting a heavy fine from the police. You could only travel around town with a government escort.
Magically he found one for me to be taxied to his office….okay….not sure why we couldn’t just do the interview at my hotel in that case (especially since he came to my hotel to pick me up with his escort, but whatever).
Anyways, the interview happened and I actually left the interview baffled.
What he performed in front of me, despite him making me turn around for part of the recall, I though he did what I saw him do. I really did. Does that mean I didn’t feel uneasy about the whole thing? No. There were so many red flags, I just wasn’t able to explain how he would have done it. And to be honest, I didn’t even consider the possibility that someone might have been recording. However obvious it might have seemed in the recording, I’m telling you the whole setup was really well orchestrated and I really felt caught up in the whole thing. I guess that’s the talent of a good scammer?
Anyways, with regards to the interview video:

I wanted it to be as minimally biased as possible. Because of my lack of ability to show with definitive proof he was legit or fraud, I left it up to the viewer. Yes, I gave some of my opinion, even going on to say that I thought maybe he had some memory talent, but I left it mostly up to the viewer to decide. One more note on that: I honestly felt that way after the interview—and in some ways I still feel that way now, I feel like he is someone who knows memory techniques and/or is good at memorizing but went down a slippery slope of exaggerating his skills for show, for fame, for recognition. He is very young, immature, and childish. I think he saw the shortcut in lying about his skills and faking them and what quick recognition it got him and then it was hard to go back to anything but that. You saw the eagerness in his eyes when he talked about me taking him to America (fame! Fortune!). We’ll never know the full extent of that story.

I knew the interview video would do well on my channel. Mostly because of how well my initial reaction video did last year. But I never thought it would hit over 1M views in 7 days. That blew my mind. Especially for a long 1h30m video. Crazy.

I had no intention of doing a follow up video. But after so many people pointing out a lot of points of contention in my interview, I felt compelled to. I also had rewatched my own footage dozens of times and found a few things that I needed to share and comment on. Those things also changed my mind about him from unsure/sortof believer to fully, completely not believing him. I wanted that to be known. Definitively. By everyone.

I didn’t orchestrate those two videos. I even debated sharing the interview at all because of how it might make me look. Even posting the second video was a bit embarrassing for me, because as a “memory export” I got scammed.

About the sponsor in the second video: I didn’t plan that. Because of the success of the first video, I did get a lot of requests from companies asking me to do a sponsored ad (not necessarily on my next Bijay video, but on a video in the future). Because I knew the next video would definitely hit a few 100,000 views, I agreed to one of them (a platform I used already anyways). Because, why the heck not? I don’t make much from YouTube, so if I know a video is going to perform well, I think it’s well within my right to make a buck or two. Especially on some scammer who wasted a ton of my time. My videos don’t do that well usually, but I knew this next one would (an anomaly in my viewership stats), so I quickly squared a deal away that would best suit me and capitalized on the ensuing views.

Further comment on that: if anyone feels bothered by the fact that I try to make money from my YouTube channel, please remember that I spend DAYS filming, editing EACH video I make. My videos cost me a lot of time that I could be working in other ways, but the videos are free for YOU. Yea you have to watch an ad here and there, but you also can skip it. You can also stop watching the video entirely and go somewhere else. I, on the other hand, have no control on the performance of my videos. I try my best to do videos that I’m passionate about and that I feel will interest people, but I’m usually wrong. YouTube isn’t my main source of income. Way wayyyy wayyyyyyy far from it, but in complete transparency I do make a little bit on the side from time to time and I am grateful for that.

In the end, I’m happy the videos exist and that I shared them. And I’m of course happy they did well and that I got all the views and a big boost in my subscriber base. Who wouldn’t be happy with that? But that was never the expected outcome. After years of making YouTube videos I still have very little idea of what will make a successful video vs an unsuccessful one.
Anyways, that’s the last I want to say about Bijay. I think everyone should stop giving this dude any more attention than he needs.

If you’re trying to be scientific, you need to support your statements with objective proof, which you haven’t done at all. Healthy skepticism and ignorance aren’t just the same thing.
