Having read all comments, I think it is necessary to say, be careful, memorization is not the solution to all problems. Nevertheless, memorization is the key for sure. For example, some subjects needs to memorize examples rather than memorizing definition, any abstract items you might be studying for. Unless, you have specific purposes for memorizing definition. But many science subjects are really good at using memorizing examples.
Thanks OP. this is really helpful. It solved my problem for ages ago. I wish I can know this thing 10 years ago when I was in high school. I hated to recite all the fact. Because my teacher said " if you cannot explain, then you do not understand this knowledge point." I mean, it is true that comprehension is important. On the other hand, I was thinking I was wrong at that time. Memorization is equivalent to inefficient way. because I opened textbook, take some time to remember and close textbook to recall. All knowledge I have is to remember without much understanding. Most importantly, I just command C + Command V, word by word. this way is so inefficient. Because we all know now from this forum is human is not good at memorizing words and abstract terms. Oh my Gosh, this makes so much sense now.
I will come back to update what I am going to do after these methods.
