That’s a good alternative continuation. The number of letters in each word gives the relevant digit, the comma suggests the decimal point.
The line I quoted is actually part of a fuller riddle which is as follows:
Sir, I bear a rhyme excelling
In mystic force and magic spelling
Celestial sprites elucidate
All my own striving can’t relate.
This is also an instance where something long is paradoxically used to remember something which is shorter.

Whoa! I love that full poem! Such a cool puzzle/code/secret and feels quite fantastical!
Even though it is “longer” it is much more memorable than a string of digits. A greal illustration about how something abstract can be come easier to recall when converted to something more tangible!

I dont use maths but can be a good gym to memorize pi. Like 3.14159. Me try till pain. In spanish me trae tal pan

You can try it. It’s an interesting path. There are also options to memorize 100 numbers in 5 minutes and faster, to memorize complex words (dictionaries. medications), 52 cards in 60 seconds. These workouts allow you to prepare your speed and endurance for memorizing information from books and work materials.
acrostics are fun :D, but when you have 20-50-70-100-1000-5000 units of information, it becomes very energy-consuming. There are codes for numbers 00-99 and 000-999.

You’re right. But there are people who believe that they will be taught, and they will do minimal effort. Any learning is self-education. You need to choose the right books and understand where to look for information (which is not difficult, just basic actions). You also need to understand what is essential to remember and what is redundant. Situations vary.
