I just finished filling all the cells for people in my 1, 2, and 3-digit Major System and decided to share it here.
I used only fictional characters because they are more memorable and distinguishable than real people and because I wanted a family friendly list. I took them from movies, games, cartoons, animes, mangas, comics, dolls, and (extremely rarely) indie art.
Most cells have multiple names, which are separated by commas. Right to the names, there are parentheses containing the sources of the respective characters. I hope you guys find the abundance of options helpful ![]()
This is a multilingual Major System: there are English, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, and French names. Since most of them are in English, I believe posting it on the English forum is ok. However, you don’t need to know all these languages (I don’t), I’m just pointing it out because some of the names are Portuguese translations of English names.
The Major System is almost standard. The only main difference is that I use the /h/ sound with the /r/ sound to encode the digit 4, so “hulk” represents 457, not 57. The precise relationship between digits and phonemes is given right to the lists in the spreadsheet.
Moreover, there are no exceptions! If you see that a name doesn’t correspond to the cell it was assigned to, please let me know. Also, the lists are supposed to be mostly family-friendly, but I’m familiar to not even a tenth of the sources I took those characters from, so if you notice that some of them are adult, please let me know.
