Want to dedicate the whole summer to learn memory techniques. What do you suggest?

So, I am very keen on learning and developing memory techniques. I have bought a few books and, am planning to spend a considerable portion of my summer learning how to learn/memorize. I want to review what I have learned this past year and memorize the material which I have covered thus understand. Would you mind giving advice to a complete novice?

Sounds like you’re set on applying what you learn, which is the most important mental principle, imho.
Taking the time to memorize stuff ensures that you spend some time with them and understand them during the process.
Just make sure it’s not a mechanical process (of a by rote mental input of sorts). Don’t force or rush things and enjoy this learning journey as much as you can!
Have fun with it!

Do not stay at home, go around, visit places, walk in a park, get lost in a forest.
