Hi guys,i want to improve my memory but i don’t really find enough time to accomplish this…any advices?
This is the only advice you need: If you want something bad enough, you will find time for it. If you don’t find time for it, it’s not important to you.
How do you currently spend your time?
Hmmm… that makes it more difficult than if you answered “Facebook and TV shows”.
If you can’t find a block of time each day, then you might try try to incorporate memory techniques here and there in your studies, or during transportation.
Example: if you have a list of 20 things to remember from your notes or textbook, write them as a list and then insert them into a memory palace while you’re between activities, like on a bus or train. If you practice for even 15 minutes per day, you will make progress.
thanks, currently i m reading moonwalking before sleeping (sometimes if i find time, i read and practice 50 week of o brien) but i don t know if such things are effective since i don t practice consistently…what do you think
If you don’t have much free time, a good plan might be to read a couple of books on memory (which you are doing). Then, after that, don’t spend more time on reading books – just start practicing, even if it’s only 15 minutes per day. When you run into specific problems, post questions here in the forum, and people here could answer them.
The basic techniques are simple. The rest you can figure out as you practice.
If you play Memory League three times per day (free), that only takes 10 minutes, and that should provide some improvement with using the techniques.
There are easy trick that don’t take much time. For instance, print your mayor system and stick it to the mirror of your bathroom, so you will have to see it at least some seconds everyday while shaving or brushing. If you are studying, print something that you put in the following page, so each time you pass the page you see it for some seconds, and then put it again in the next page. Set something related to the content you are learning to the default page of the browser of your computer or phone. Or create little if-this-then-than habits: each time I enter the bus I train one minute before facebook. Little tricks like these are useful for me.
I would not mix chess with all these…
Thank you all
