For a while, I think some people were wondering if PAO was [becoming replaced](https://forum.artofmemory.com/t/the-death-of-pao/30630) by 2-card systems among the top competitors, but Shijir holds the world record in speed card memorization [with a PAO system](https://forum.artofmemory.com/t/rebirth-of-pao-shijir-almost-15-sec-with-pao-who-says-pao-is-dead/33571). It seems like people are able to reach top speed with any kind of system.
