The fourth edition of the Scandinavian Memory league Open will take place on the 25th and 26th of April in Gothenburg, Sweden. It will be part of the Science Fair, a weeklong festival taking over the city. The competition will take place in a large shopping centre close to the train station. There will be people around but we will arrange for booths that will isolate the competitors as much as possible from outside distractions!
Here’s the link for registration: http://www.minnesforbundet.se/kontakt/sko20/
Note that there’s no fee for the persons taking part in their first competition
The competition will have two phases: there’ll be a group phase on the first day and a knock-out round on day 2 where the memory athletes compete one-on-one in order to try to reach the final! Everyone is guaranteed to get to play some games on day 2, even if they end up at the bottom of their group after the first day.
The six disciplines are:
- International Names
… with 1 minute of memorization and 4 minutes of recall for each event.
The audience will be able to follow the competition live on a big screen and there’ll be live commentary by a very well-known memory expert allowing you to follow the action even if you aren’t in Gothenburg then.
The overall winner will be crowned “Scandinavian Champion”
IMPORTANT: although the event is run digitally, the competitors still need to be present physically in Gothenburg, Sweden.
IMPORTANT (2): more information will follow regarding how the registration will be conducted. Indicating that you will attend the event here or on another network is only a preliminary registration. That being said, try to only indicate that you will attend in case you plan on being present in Sweden these days
