I had read a post talking about using memory techniques to remember every day of your life.

I thought recently about using music to do that. basically I pick a song and memorize it and keep on playing it during the day, that way I associate it with whatever I do during the day. to revise I just put my music on shuffle

What are your thoughts?

I like the idea. Sometimes I intentionally try to link music with memories (implanting the memory associations in advance) but I haven’t tried it daily. I tend to put my music on repeat but usually for 3-12+ months at a time. 🙂

Do the memories last for a long time when doing it regularly like that?

Well, this sounds interesting! So do you mean to say that you assign one different song to each day of each year? Then, do you attach 24 loci/images for each hour of the day, with 24 of the lyrics (or, I guess with the notes if you read music) ? This sounds like an enormous project. Over the course of 10 years you’d memorize the lyrics to 3,650 songs, and relive your life at the same time!

Remembering every day of one’s life, honestly, sounds horrible to me. Am I missing something here? I’d love to hear why some people try to do that. 🙂
