# Morse code words

Check out this post. It expands on Simon’s word system for encoding and provides a way to do the decoding when hearing by associating dot or dash with major system sounds of 0 and 1. Unique words or adjective/noun images are used for each letter code.

Hi Marco. If you’re really interested in learning the Morse code learn it by sound. I’ve had an Amateur Radio (Ham) FCC license since I was 12 years old. Learning by sound is the way the military as well as other organizations taught it. Unfortunately the code is only used in Amateur Radio now since other methods have replaced it. If you’re wanting to learn it based upon what this wonderful site teaches I would suggest following their suggestions. JohnL
