I haven’t read [_Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain_](https://www.amazon.com/Drawing-Right-Side-Brain-Definitive/dp/1585429201?tag=artofmemory-20), but I’ve seen some impressive before and after photos, like [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/learntodraw/comments/g8btxd/a_month_apart_thanks_to_betty_edwards_drawing_on/) and [these](https://www.drawright.com/before-after). Someone here might know more about it.

I guess it depends on what “learning a skill” means. Learning a skill to a level where you’re happy with the result might not take three years.

The book [Ultralearning by Scott Young](https://forum.artofmemory.com/t/ultralearning-by-scott-young/54002) is good for inspiration. Here’s a video of his one month experiment with drawing:

If you search YouTube for “1 year progress drawing” (or another skill) there will probably be some results. Here’s one for drawing:
