Best technique for card matching game?

Hi all. There s a card matching game I am trying to be the best at. It is a classic game, but there are 12 pairs, so only 24 cards, and you flip two cards at a time. You get only 60 seconds the first round, 45 seconds the second, and 30 seconds each additional round. Last one standing wins. My mind just keeps going down and I can’t remember all my cards…

My technique, I do have all the cards turned into people(from Dominic system) and I don’t have any issue when using the system in school, but speed wise it is not happening. I use 4 of my 5 rooms in my main memory palace, and the first 6 places of the 10 in each room.

Basically I only need 12 images memorized and a way to link them to the next image. It’s just not happening as well as I’d like.

Is there a certain point in the game where you usually get stuck? Do you notice ghost images, or is it just that you can’t recall what was in a location?

Thanks for responding, I forgot about this post. It is a memory issue. The grid is 6 across and 4 down. I solved part of my problem by memorizing a grid of images(6x4), but speed is still kicking my butt. I was wrong about the time, it is 30secs to start with 2 bonuses (somewhat random) for more time. I can do 6 pairs in 30 seconds consistently, and when at home I can do all 12 pairs within 1min 30seconds using real cards.

I think I need a free memory card game where I can insert custom text. Do you or anyone know of a free memory card game with custom options? And to be specific, I know of games that can do this but none allow me to choose 6X4 as my grid layout.
