Applying memory techniques to Chess

Hello all,

I am a fan of chess, and having just recently discovered these powerful useful memory strategies, I’d like to find or develop some way to harness their strength and apply then towards Chess and other games like it. Now I have been playing chess for a few years. And I have been training with these memory techniques for around a week or so. I’ve gotten my speed cards down to about 8 minutes by practicing with 2 decks a day. Last night a thought ran through my head, about using these techniques to memorize patterns, openings and positions in chess.

Since I am rather new to memory techniques I was hoping I could use your collective wisdom and knowledge.

How can I use memory techniques to memorize, general tactic patterns, openings and positional advice/ specific positions.

Thank you all for the help.
