An asteroid named 57 Mnemosyne

I saw that there is an asteroid named Mnemosyne (Greek goddess of memory). Unfortunately, there aren’t any pictures, but I thought it might be an interesting bit of random trivia.

Mnemosyne is also one of the three main SR programs.

The others are Anki and SuperMemo.

Thanks.

Mnemosyne , in Greek mythology, the goddess of memory. A Titaness, she was the daughter of Uranus (Heaven) and Gaea (Earth), and, according to Hesiod, the mother (by Zeus) of the nine Muses. She gave birth to the Muses after Zeus went to Pieria and stayed with her nine consecutive nights.

There is also 1247 Memoria
Not named after a mythological being, but since the astronomer had good memories of his time at the observatory, he named it after the concept of ‘rememberance’
