Hello everyone! I’m currently working on creating 1000 images using an AI chatbot and Google, but I’m facing some challenges in achieving perfection. It takes me a significant amount of time to find the right image using AI. I really wish there was someone available to assist me with my Anki cards. Currently, I’m using the Numzi website as a word finder. However, I’m feeling a bit uncertain about my progress as I’m only at 033. Is there any shortcut or more efficient method to enhance my workflow?

**For me system doesn’t matter a bit, it’s the process of making it, If you got everything in plate you will be having trouble eating it , and then started doing anki, rote…**

**I never did anki for numbers, the moment I finished my 3 digit system, and that too was incomplete at that time, I started practicing with incomplete system, I somehow know the image of numbers because of process of making it**

wish you goodluck 😉

I would be curious how many people have searched all the images you need for making anki cards for your PAO.

It seems such a huge time investment, is it really worth it? If you have a card that says “Person for 54?” and on the other side “Sookie”, isn’t it enough? (Like another form of active recall: your brain is forced to do the job of imagining the image instead of looking at it? Or maybe like a card that is only giving you a hint but no answer - it’s supposed to be the best type of card, isn’t it?).

I mean I have only 1000 people and 1000 objects (no actions) and the idea of searching for 2000 images makes me feel really discouraged. I’m just happy I did my “minimalistic” PAO cards before I even understood that adding images to PAO cards in anki was a thing. Otherwise I may have never done PAO at all, completing my list in Excel already felt it took forever.

I totally second beginning to use it before it’s complete. Get some return on your investment because seeing how useful it is is going to help motivate you.

Welcome to the forum, @A292 !

I strongly recommend against this approach when you’re in the early stages of building your list. ChatGPT is incredibly bad at following the phonetic ruleset for generating Major System words. You will waste so much time trying to give it clear instructions and it will usually spit out incorrect results. It simply does not do well at following structured commands. It is also much much much better to come up with as many of your own associations as possible. More on that later.

There are major system word generator websites, people have posted complete lists on this forum, there are tons of shortcuts for COMPLETING a list. I’d recommend against using any of them. The whole point in building systems and using these techniques is to train your brain to make associations and get stronger and faster at doing so. Outsourcing the work up front will have detrimental effects all down the line when you go to learn the system and put it into practice. If you rely on associations that stemmed from someone else’s brain and their experiences, those associations will be vastly inferior to ones that your own brain comes up with, even with and maybe especially because of the struggle and extra effort that it takes to do so.

More on that [HERE](https://forum.artofmemory.com/t/preparing-for-my-switch-from-pao-to-the-shadow-system/80291/12)

One of my favorite sayings here is that the memory techniques are shortcuts for processing and retaining information but there are no shortcuts to learning these shortcuts. The process of learning the systems and applying them are different. You will spend a ton of time in the building and learning phase of a system so that you can save time when you eventually apply it. If you try to skip or fast forward through that beginning phase you will pay for it with a much more difficult time in learning and applying it.

You should accept that the process of filling in 1000 images will take time. A lot. Likely several months. If you don’t have realistic expectations, frustration at perceived “slowness” will likely cause you to burn out and abandon the project. I assume you already have a 2-digit major system list in place? Think about how long it took to fill that in, and then multiply that by at least 10. That’s your realistic timeframe for completing the grid. Likely even longer as it’s more challenging to find fits for 3 digits while keeping all of the imagery unique.

(If you don’t have a 2-digit list set up, definitely just start with that and get used to working with the system before you jump into the effort required with a 3-digit system.)

You’re in luck! I uploaded a template deck for a full 3-digit major system. All you need to do is fill in your words and add images if you want. Check [THIS](https://forum.artofmemory.com/t/resource-3-digit-number-system-anki-deck-template/84264) out:

At least one. I actually really enjoyed that process. Again, it’s about managing expectations and being realistic about the time commitment needed. I tried finding 20 or 30 images per day. It actually helped immensely when learning the system compared to just having the written word on the answer side. The end goal of review is to be able to jump directly to image creation from the prompt of the number, having just the image helped me eliminate that middle step of reading the word before visualizing the image. Also, the process of thinking about and finding a good image helped because it caused interaction with the associations and involved working with the numbers and images in a different way.

Both points here are key as well. The process of creating and using it is invaluable in forging strong associations. If you just let someone or something else come up with all your words, they won’t be meaningful and you’ll have to expend tons of extra energy trying to make those connections stick.

I utilize Bing ai to generate images and google if images are available, but my attempt to use logical representations instead of fantasy-like images is mostly slowing me down, I think. My mind doesn’t resonate well with vibrant and imaginative visuals. However, I must admit that I don’t have significant trouble creating such images. Perhaps, I should try to be more open-minded and embrace a vibrant imagination. While the main challenge still lies in selecting the perfect image, which significantly hampers efficiency, I realize that I need to prioritize choosing my first association that comes to mind over striving for perfection. I appreciate the template provided for anki cards nonetheless.

You’ll never finish if your goal is perfection. Find something that fits enough to trigger the imagery. Going with your first instinct works well because it takes advantage of pre-existing connections in your brain. You won’t have to work as hard to build speed with a pre-existing connection compared to trying to forcibly overwrite one with a new connection. Try to embrace vibrancy and absurdity. How memorable are normal people doing normal things with normal objects? Not very. But out-of-the ordinary events are usually very easy to recall. There’s something called the “problem of sameness” that rears its head when imagery is too similar or not clear and vibrant enough. Make your images specific and clear and MEMORABLE.

You should try to add “yet” to the end of that statement. Imagination and visualization are skills that in most cases can be trained and steadily improved with practice. There are some legitimate neurological conditions that are exceptions but for the most part the deficiency is due to inexperience. Memory techniques are all about finding ways to turn boring or abstract or easy to forget information into something that sticks with you and is easy to recall. Turning one boring thing into another boring thing won’t get you very far. The good thing is, it’s something that you can work on and get better at!

Do you already have a 1-digit and/or 2-digit system in place? I ask again because it is incredibly challenging to find 1000 people and or objects that are different enough to avoid that problem of sameness. If you don’t have those lists built out yet, start there and practice selecting and working with a smaller pool of images to work on building creative imagery before jumping into building out a 1000+ image system.

I wrote ChatGPT to write a python code to give me a leg up on generating Ben System words

Prompts

1. Use ARPABET dictionary to find most common 100000 English words and their phonetic spelling
2. Use wordfreq to add their frequency in English language
3. Find the first three sounds of the arpabet pronunciation
4. categorise them as consonants and vowels, and keep only those words that are CVC
5. use the following mapping for converting the sounds into number combinations (below)
6. for each combination, sort the English words by their frequency (from step 2)
