When I was a primary school student, I learnt fundamental soroban. It was about simple addition and subtraction for kids. But now I already lost my physical soroban and the skill of course.

I read many posts that saying mental soroban are better than math tricks, is that real? I don’t have any idea.

Well, Soroban is indeed a very quickly tool for additions and subtractions.

The disadvantage is that you must learn it when youre very young.

I’m not very young so I need many hours per day if I want to learn Soroban. And I have not that spare time to use for learning.

Maybe you can train doing small sessions like one or two of the tasks with very high intensity in speed, you should improve your brute force in a few weeks. The faster you go the less energy you need so you also should improve your % of correct answers.
